Somebody once said that the best defense is a good offense. Do you think that John Proctor may be hinting at this when he asks why the accusers are always innocent now? Explain your answer.

I think that proctor is hinting that the people are trying to protect themselves by accusing others.
I feel that John Proctor did hit on the dot when he said that the accusers were always innocent now. Because the people who were being accused are the innocent and the accusers are the guilty ones.
Yes, because all the girls have to do is admit they they "were" doing witchcraft. Then they wouldn't be sentenced to death, they would just have to sit in jail.
Yes, i agree that the best defense is a good offense. I think Proctor is trying to say just because you accuse someone, doesn't mean your always innocent. Just because Abigail blames everyone for doing witchcraft doesn't mean she is innocent either.
I think that John Proctor was doing exactly that, hinting that people are protecting themselves by saying the are witches when they are actually not just so they won't be accused and punished. Kelsey Bailey
Yes, i do believe this. because he's saying the accusers are the ones who should be guilty, and the accused ones are the ones that should be innocent.... If that makes sense.
I think that he is hinting at this when he asks why the accusers are always innocent because he knows that the ones being accused are innocent and Abigail is the one that is guilty.

I think that proctor is basically saying that the accusers are the guilty ones while the ones being accused are innocent.

I think that he is hinting that because he thinks he knows that the people that are accusing people are the ones that are guilty.

Yes, just because you accuse someone of something does not leave you being no guilty of it. The ones that are being accused are not guilty.
